Description
A mission-driven nonprofit arts organization is seeking an Interim Director of Human Resources to join the team on a temporary basis. This highly visible leadership role offers the opportunity to partner with executive leadership, guide organizational strategy, and support a collaborative, people-first culture.
Who You Are
- You have 10+ years of HR leadership experience in a senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or Director-level role
- Strong background in employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, and HR compliance
- Experience advising executives and managers on organizational and people-related matters
- Knowledge of benefits administration, workers' compensation, unemployment, and PEO environments (TriNet experience is a plus)
- Passion for fostering inclusive, equitable workplace cultures through DEI initiatives
- Union and/or nonprofit experience is a strong plus
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day HR operations
What You'll Do
- Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with organizational priorities
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and organizational planning
- Oversee HR compliance, benefits administration, leave management, workers' compensation, and annual HR processes
- Support recruitment, workforce planning, and organizational development initiatives
- Champion employee engagement, DEI efforts, and leadership development across the organization
- Collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen people practices and support a growing, mission-driven workforce

Pay Rate Range: $60-65 per hour, based on experience
