As Director of Web Development, you’ll lead a team in delivering high-performing websites, optimizing user experience, and ensuring seamless integration with broader digital strategies. Job Responsibilities
- Web Development & Engineering: Define and write functional requirements for projects. Work with Analytics teams to design and implement tags, pixels, and tracking schemes. Identify new development and engineering training opportunities for the team.
- Team Leadership: Build, develop, and nurture a high-performing, engaged, and talented Development team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and expertise.
- Innovation & Collaboration: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the agency. Leverage emerging technologies, tools, and data platforms to ensure our web development capabilities stay ahead of industry trends.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering insights and recommendations on key projects and ad-hoc research through impactful presentations. Translate complex technical documentation into simple language for clients and team members.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Develop, maintain, and implement Standard Operating Procedures for the team. Ensure all deliverables meet agency standards through final QA and established procedures.
- Resource Allocation & Project Management: In partnership with the PM team, manage team resource allocation and project profitability. Oversee and optimize the internal and ad hoc development sprint cycle, working closely with IT teams to perfect internal workflows.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business and serve as a trusted advisor in decision-making processes.
Screening Requirements
- 7+ years in development, software engineering, or web development roles,
- 4+ years in building and implementing e-commerce experiences
- 4+ years leading high-performing teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of web technologies, concepts, and methodologies. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, REST APIs, SSH, ADA/WCAG2.0 Level AA/AAA, and modern frameworks like TailwindCSS, Laravel, VueJS, ReactJS, and others.
- Content Management Systems: Proficiency in WordPress, Shopify, Statamic, and Sitecore. Experience in web server, web host, and VPS management.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing development teams, setting strategic goals, and fostering collaboration across departments. Ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, providing data-driven insights for business decisions.
Salary Range
$125-135k annually (plus bonus!), based on experience
