A nationally recognized professional services firm is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead firmwide financial operations from its Fort Lauderdale office. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone with deep experience in audit, trust accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls—ideally within a legal or professional services setting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations (AP/AR, billing, trust, collections, bank reconciliations)
- Lead the monthly close and issue timely, accurate financial statements
- Maintain internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
- Serve as the point person for external auditors and internal escalations
- Monitor unbilled WIP, trust balances, and unreconciled transactions
- Drive process improvements, KPI reporting, and firm-level financial hygiene
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA/CMA highly preferred
- Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
- Expertise in trust accounting, GAAP, audit prep, and ASC 842 compliance
- Experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and multi-entity reporting
- Ability to lead system/process improvements and collaborate across departments
💰 Salary Range: $150,000–$190,000 base (commensurate with experience; CPA/legal background may command higher)
