Our client is a top Real Estate Management firm based in NYC. They are seeking a Director of Accounting to join the team.
Who You Are
- Finance and accounting professional with 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate, property, or asset management
- Proven team leader with the ability to drive accountability and improve performance
- Strong expertise in interpreting complex lease structures including step rent and percentage rent
- Proficient in Yardi, MRI, or similar systems with experience handling large portfolios and billing processes
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and a focus on accuracy and risk mitigation
What You’ll Do
- Lead accounting operations and oversee team output across portfolio activities
- Support and direct senior staff while ensuring accuracy in lease administration, billing, and reconciliations
- Use reporting tools to track progress, identify issues, and maintain timely deliverables
- Set and monitor KPIs to improve productivity and team effectiveness
- Strengthen policies, controls, and workflows to enhance oversight
- Drive new initiatives, including system upgrades and process improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve issues and fulfill requests
- Assist with recurring financial reporting and presentations

Salary Range: $170,000 – 185,000 annually, based on experience
Location: New York, NY – Hybrid
