Our client is a well-known consumer product manufacturer. They are seeking an Accounting Associate to join the team in Long Island City.
Who You Are
- You have a college degree and at least one year of accounting experience
- Understand core accounting concepts and standard practices
- Proficient in Excel, Dynamics, and comparable accounting systems
- Precise, detail-oriented, and good with numbers
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and update financial records across journals, ledgers, and related systems
- Review transactional data for accuracy, documentation, and policy alignment
- Handle vendor billing activity from intake through internal approval
- Track payment obligations and manage supporting correspondence
- Coordinate check runs, vouchers, and bank submission files
- Oversee electronic payment files including ActivePay and PositivePay transmissions
- Support expense oversight through review of travel activity and employee card usage
- Facilitate purchasing processes and ensure adherence to internal guidelines
- Build and maintain accrual schedules for recurring reporting cycles
- Prepare and upload accounting entries as part of routine operations
- Contribute to monthly and annual close efforts as needed
- Compile required tax reporting forms in accordance with regulations
- Provide administrative support for ad hoc initiatives and internal projects

- Financial records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
- Vendor and payment processes run smoothly and on schedule
- Expense and purchasing activity aligns with company policies
- Close cycles are supported efficiently with minimal rework
- Banking and payment files are submitted correctly and on time
Salary Range: $70,000 – 80,000 annually, based on experience
Location: Long Island City, NY – On site
