Description
A well-established, multi-office law practice is seeking a senior Finance & Accounting Leader to take full ownership of its financial operations. You’ll modernize systems, oversee cash flow and disbursements, and deliver a 60–90 day plan to stabilize and scale financial operations.
What You’ll Do
- Provide hands-on finance and accounting leadership across multiple entities and offices with significant settlement flow.
- Audit, clean up, and restructure accounting systems following prior system transitions.
- Oversee up-front billing / no-receivables model: track client disbursements and partner distributions accurately.
- Integrate and streamline systems
- Partner with leadership and operations to ensure transparent reporting and strong controls.
- Manage, assess, and restructure a ~9-person accounting team; hire and coach as needed.
- Present a clear 60–90 day action plan to managing partners and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- CPA license (mandatory).
- 8+ years of experience in accounting and finance.
- 4+ years’ experience in a mid sized law firm.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Proven success in high-volume, multi-entity, multi-office accounting environments.
- System integration or ERP migration experience—ability to evaluate, transition, and stabilize financial platforms.
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style with strong people-management skills.
- Longevity and stability in previous roles.
- Strong communicator comfortable collaborating with partners, operations, and external CPA firms.
Salary Range: $185,000 - 225,000 annually based on experience
Annual bonus: Equivalent to one month of base salary
