A leading real estate development and management firm is seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Collections Paralegal to join its high-performing team. This position is fully on site, with potential for one remote day per week, in Douglaston, NY.  

Who You Are 

  • Paralegal with a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in real estate law 
  • Experienced in NYC housing law (DHCR & HPD), tenant relations, and legal compliance 
  • Skilled in managing legal cases, financial records, and resident communications 
  • Proficient in Yardi and Microsoft Office with strong analytical and reporting abilities 
  • Clear communicator with a professional approach to sensitive tenant matters 

What You’ll Do 

  • Oversee resident outreach, payment plans, and ledger accuracy 
  • Manage legal case preparation, documentation, and coordination with counsel 
  • Ensure compliance with DHCR and HPD regulations and resolve violations 
  • Track legal actions, update tenant records, and generate monthly reports 
  • Prepare notices, agreements, and legal correspondence 
  • Monitor legal expenses and reconcile attorney invoices 

What Success Looks Like 

  • Legal cases are resolved in a timely manner, with accurate documentation 
  • Compliance is maintained across all properties 
  • Financial records and reports are consistently accurate and up to date 
  • Communication with residents and internal teams is clear 
  • Legal costs are tracked and managed within budget 

Salary Range: $90,000 – 100,000 annually, based on experience
