Our client, a nonprofit renowned for its evidence-based reach and impactful work, is seeking an exceptional Project Financial Services Associate to focus on various financial management and organizational tasks.
This role involves managing financial planning and analysis for federal and foundation grants, including pre-and post-award project control. Your responsibilities will involve developing spending plans, preparing reports, and collaborating with teams.
As a Project Financial Services Associate, you will:
- Serve as the primary financial partner for policy areas, building relationships with leadership and project teams.
- Develop and manage spending plans for multi-funded projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare financial reports and interpret grant/contract provisions.
- Resolve financial issues and manage budget modifications, while monitoring spending and compliance.
- Conduct financial analysis and lead meetings to address risks and issues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for federal grants
- Accurate and timely financial reporting
- Collaboration with teams to ensure regulatory compliance
- Develop and manage pre- and post-award spending plans
- Prepare financial reports ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with teams to drive effective project management
- Ensure adherence to rules and regulations
Desired Experience:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in pre- and post-award management of federal grants
- Strong background in nonprofits or education
- Experience with automated accounting systems is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of six years of experience in a related field
- Experience in pre- and post-award management of federal and foundation grants and contracts, including financial reporting for projects with multiple funding services and compliance requirements.
- Solid understanding of project cost accounting, revenue recognition, cost allocations, audit requirements, and indirect costs.
- Experience with automated accounting and budgeting systems and databases preferred.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000 based on experience.
