Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking an experienced Managing Clerk. The Managing Clerk will be responsible for maintaining the firm's daily docket, overseeing court filings, and providing guidance to case teams on court rules and deadlines. The firm offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the opportunity to work alongside top litigators in the field. This is a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the firm’s docketing software and recommend process improvements.
  • Oversee the litigation docket and calendar to ensure all procedural deadlines and court rules are met.
  • Monitor and maintain the case calendar, alerting case teams of filing deadlines and upcoming court appearances.
  • Guide case teams regarding court rules, procedures, and time calculations.
  • Coordinate and assist with e-filings, service of process, and act as a liaison with court personnel, process servers, and related vendors.
  • Maintain attorney filing credentials, troubleshoot court admission account issues, and ensure compliance with court rules.
  • Monitor procedural changes in the courts where the firm frequently litigates.
  • Track newly filed actions to identify potential pitch opportunities for the firm.
  • Assist with opening new matters, incoming file transfers, and resolving docket inconsistencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Practice Management.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in a Managing Attorney/Clerk’s office at a law firm.
  • Expertise in litigation processes, court rules, and e-filing procedures.
  • Experience with rules-based calendaring software (Deadline Assistant preferred).
  • Notary Public license preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and track extensive details.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Willingness to work outside regular business hours when needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Salary Range: $90,000-$150,000 annually, based on experience.
