Director Human Resources
A fast-scaling AI-powered revenue technology company is redefining financial operations for modern businesses and preparing for its next stage of growth. As the company grows, it is hiring its Founding Director of Human Resources to build the HR function from the ground up. This role owns HR operations, employee experience, compliance, and development, partnering closely with the executive team and Head of Talent to shape culture, structure, and performance systems. About the Role
- Lead and scale the Human Resources function for a high-growth tech company operating full-time in-office.
- Own HR Operations, Employee Experience, Compliance, and Development across all stages of company growth.
- Advise executive leadership on performance management, employee relations, organizational design, and workforce planning.
- Design and implement scalable systems for onboarding, payroll, benefits, reviews, promotions, and compensation cycles.
- Oversee and optimize HRIS administration (Rippling), including system build-outs and process automation.
- Develop learning programs and career frameworks to support long-term employee growth.
- Drive headcount planning, people analytics, and annual compensation review processes.
- Establish clear policies, documentation, and compliance standards to reduce risk and create operational clarity.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and ensure strong internal communication alignment.
About You
- 7–12 years of Human Resources experience.
- The last 3 years must be within a high growth tech startup.
- Experience building and leading an HR function from early-stage growth through 300+ employee scale.
- Hands-on expertise across HR operations, recruiting infrastructure, L&D, performance management, and compensation cycles.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Demonstrated success implementing scalable HR systems, preferably including Rippling.
- Experience partnering closely with executive teams to align people strategy with business objectives.
- Proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environments.
- Based in New York City and committed to a full-time, in-office role.
Salary Range
$140,000 - 185,000 annually, based on experience
