This integrated media, strategy, and creative agency combines data science, technology, and award-winning creative work. Its media investment team uses advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistics to plan and optimize advertising investment. The Director will own local broadcast investment strategy, determining allocations across markets, dayparts, and station groups. The role will lead station and rep-firm negotiations and requires knowledge of National Video, with a holistic perspective across broadcast and digital channels preferred.
About the Role
- Own local broadcast investment strategy and allocate client budgets across markets, dayparts, and station groups.
- Lead negotiations with stations and rep firms, using portfolio scale to improve rates and secure value-add.
- Own estimates and posts; diagnose underdelivery, secure make-goods, and determine when to move spending.
- Serve as the senior broadcast voice in client conversations, presentations, recommendations, and escalations.
- Partner with data scientists and engineers to apply modeling and predictive analytics to broadcast planning.
- Set standards for estimating, quality assurance, stewardship cadence, and reconciliation.
- Mentor buyers and manage station and rep relationships as an ongoing portfolio.
About You
- 10+ years in local broadcast buying, including experience leading buys or people.
- Deep command of station-group dynamics, market nuance, TV and radio concepts, and negotiation leverage.
- A track record of specific negotiated outcomes, not solely experience executing buys.
- Expert-level experience with media investment platforms supporting estimating, stewardship, and reconciliation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including building models, plus strong quantitative and strategic judgment.
- Experience applying analytics to media buying and explaining the underlying math to clients.
- Comfort owning senior client relationships.
- Working knowledge of National Video.
- Preferred: strong understanding of the digital video landscape and the ability to assess a complete video plan across broadcast and digital channels.
- Preferred: experience with predictive analytics or data science.
Compensation: $140K–$150K base salary plus annual bonus
Office Format: Remote; New York hybrid availability preferred
