Our client, a global industry-leading law firm, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Disputes practice team in New York City.
Who You Are
- You have a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in business development at a law firm
- Strong communicator comfortable collaborating with partners, attorneys, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Organized project manager able to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Experienced developing client-facing materials such as proposals, presentations, and credentials
- Analytical thinker who can translate market insights into actionable growth strategies
What You’ll Do
- Partner with disputes attorneys across litigation, arbitration, antitrust, and cyber-related matters to drive growth initiatives
- Support partner-level business planning, including target client development and strategic outreach efforts
- Lead development of proposals, pitch materials, and client presentations for new opportunities
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and client developments to guide marketing and business development strategy
- Work with communications and marketing colleagues to support thought leadership and visibility initiatives
- Coordinate conference participation, sponsorship engagements, and targeted client programs
- Prepare submissions for legal rankings and maintain internal records of key matters and proposals
- Collaborate with U.S. and global BD colleagues to support cross-practice initiatives and shared opportunities
What Success Looks Like
- Business development initiatives for the disputes practices are delivered efficiently and aligned with strategic priorities
- Partners receive timely, high-quality support on client development efforts and proposals
- Market insights and coordinated outreach contribute to new opportunities
- The practice’s external profile is strengthened through well-executed marketing initiatives and industry visibility
Salary Range: $160,000 – 190,000 annually, based on experience
Location: New York, NY – Hybrid
