Our client is an AmLaw Top 50 law firm at the forefront of innovation in the legal industry, serving clients across Technology, Energy, Finance, and Life Sciences. They are seeking a Practice Manager to join the team in support of their Finance practice group.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years of experience managing a finance-related practice group at a law firm, including managing staffing, professional development, and workload allocation for associates
- J.D. preferred; MBA or equivalent industry experience considered
- Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills
- Comfortable partnering with partners, associates, and senior business leaders
- Strong financial acumen with advanced Microsoft Office and data analysis skills
What You’ll Do
- Manage associate staffing, utilization, and work allocation across the Finance practice
- Partner with associates on professional development, training, mentoring, and career goals
- Analyze utilization, productivity, profitability, and other practice performance metrics
- Work with practice leaders to identify staffing needs and support hiring and workforce planning
- Help integrate new associates and of counsel into the practice
- Partner with Finance, Talent, Innovation, and other teams to improve resource allocation and efficiency
- Support practice leadership with financial analysis, strategic initiatives, communications, and day-to-day operations

- Associate workloads are balanced effectively with client and professional development needs
- Practice leadership has clear visibility into staffing, utilization, and financial performance
- Associates receive meaningful development opportunities and support
- Practice operations become more efficient, collaborative, and profitable
Salary Range: $180,000 – 240,000 annually, based on experience
Location: New York, NY – Hybrid
